Kemsa KelTaq by Damalia

A commissioned character from the Wilderhom trilogy, an ambassador for her race, Kemsa KelTaq. Kemsa is a felocanid phur, something that I understand is a cougar-fox hybrid humanoid--and she was supposed to be quite stunning. I hope I pulled it off. ;) Original 11x17" Kemsa KelTaq as well as the Wilderhom Universe and the Trilogy itself (Riders of the Mind, Wilderhom, Beyond that Which Divides) are copyright Philip James Eggerding (Cirrel or Brother Jerenn).

Here's something kinda different. A digital painting I did for a class. It's a magpie.. um that's it really >.>; I attempted realism but then got bored, tired and gave up lol. Heavy use of references though sadly I don't know where they came from.. it was an old file I found on my comp from ages ago. Done in photoshop.

A long overdue pic for Abel and Caine because they're awesome. And Oni's just thrown into the middle. Have some closeups! It's a dark image, both in theme and colors. But I was having trouble finding a balance between something that looks dark on my screen but also light enough so people with darker screen settings don't just see black as there is quite a bit of detail.. A while ago I offered a limited series of sketch commissions through my Livejournal (http://ailurophile.livejournal.com). Of the sketches I did, this one is my favourite - I love anthropomorphic goats, and you don't see many of them! I also enjoyed the geekery of including a couple of Harry Potter references in there. I haven't drawn a simple wildlife portrait in some time. It was marvelous fun exploring the bounce light, warm and cool colors, and values in the textures! If I had more time I would push the details and colors even more. Several things bother me, it's what I get for not making sure my base sketch was solid before diving into painting.

A fire juggling kitsune! I tried to put a twist on the usual kitsune by making this guy a cross fox, my favorite pelt pattern on foxes. Its a cross between a silver fox phase and the regular red fox phase.

One heckuva a large commission! I apologize for the bad scan, I got tired of wrestling with it after I scanned it crooked twice.. Someday I'll get a scan up without the ugly line down the middle. Katze, left, and Disanti, right, for Katze. He likes dragons and the way I do wings so he asked for the dragon coiling in the background and for the cats to be winged. I'm not sure of the entire dimensions of the piece, but it's pretty big. It was a lot of work, all colored pencils. The eyes were the most fun, of course. Nice big juicy cat eyes. Prismacolor pencils on Canson tinted paper.

A tanuki/kistsune mixbreed named Sendiri falls slowly into deep clear water...for whatever reason. And for the same reason, cherry blossoms glow blue. Character design is Wolf Nymp's, image done for the Yerf trading post. The lanterns were inspired by the Myst games.

The great HexaDragon Deity held high on the high ziggarock throne. Destructively strong mental abilites provide him with the strength of telekensis. This evolved state of dragon had no eyes and stumpy limbs of feet and fingers are being phased out as a result of his form. Kitten plays with planets and stars.... heheh. Commission.
